Description: This template shows four steps in the activation of allergic responses, starting with an allergen cleaving occludin in tight junctions to enter the airway mucosa and a dendritic cell priming a T cell in the lymph node. It continues with a plasma cell producing allergen-specific IgE antibodies that travel back to the mucosa and bind FcepsilonRI receptors on mast cells, triggering mast cell degranulation.
