Description: EMT and MET cycles drive tissue and organ formation during embryogenesis. EMT from the ectoderm enables mesoderm and neural tube formation via NOTCH and WNT signaling, allowing NCC migration and differentiation. EMT in NCCs forms the peripheral nervous system, while mesoderm-derived mesenchymal cells develop into muscles, tendons, urogenital, and cardiac tissues. Adapted from Figure 3 of Spatial and Temporal Relationship between Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) and Stem Cells in Cancer.
