Description: This template was adapted from the original submission. Edits were made to enhance scientific accuracy, optimal usability and/or to meet industry-leading design standards for science communication. The selection of highly specific and sensitive antibody is the major part of developing antibody-based detection assays for diagnosing viral pathogens. The western blot is considered the gold standard for analyzing antigen-antibody reaction. Here, the most common and highly used western blot protocol is visualized. After virus isolation, the protein of interest is obtained with a lysis passage. Then, western blotting is performed and the isolated protein is visualized through antibody probing directly on the PVDF membrane.
