Description: This figure illustrates the cellular stress response mediated by the tumor suppressor protein p53. Various stress signals (DNA damage, hypoxia, oxidative stress, etc.) activate p53 through phosphorylation/acetylation events. Activated p53 triggers transcription of specific target genes that regulate critical cellular processes, including cell cycle arrest (e.g., p21, 14-3-3σ), DNA repair (Gadd45a, Ddb2), apoptosis (Puma, Bax), senescence (Pai1, Cdkn1α), anti-angiogenesis (Tsp1, Bai1), autophagy (Atg10, Tsc2), and metabolism regulation (Tigar, Gls2). Each pathway ensures cellular adaptation to stress, promoting survival or programmed cell death when necessary.
