Infection of a maize ear by the fungus Aspergillus Flavus
Description
The conidia from Aspergillus flavus are spread via the wind and are able to enter and infect the maize ears via the silks. Along the silks the spores of the fungus can travel all the way to the maize ear and infect developing maize kernels. Figure was created in Biorender.com.
