Overview

In this video, we'll show you how to add and edit comments on a BioRender file. When working with collaborators, commenting can be a great tool to leave feedback right in the illustration file.

In the toolbar, select add comment to enter comment mode. Click on the Canvas to place and type out your comment. Click post when you're done. Once you're done placing comments, select exit comment mode. To edit a comment, select the ellipses to open up the options. You will also find the delete comment option in this menu. Select edit, and this is where you can make changes to your comment. Once you're done, select save. You can reply to a comment that's been left on the canvas by selecting the comment you would like to respond to and typing out your reply in the text box. Select post when you're ready to reply. You can resolve a comment by selecting the circle with a check mark. This turns the check mark green and indicates that the comment and associated replies have been resolved. On the canvas, you will also see that the comment icon will change from a symbol with lines to a symbol with a check mark. Sometimes an illustration can become cluttered when there are multiple comments on the canvas. You can hide comments from your view by selecting the ellipses in the toolbar. This is where you can find the option to hide comments and show comments again if they are hidden. And that's how you use the commenting feature in BioRender.

Due to continuous improvements in BioRender, the application may appear slightly different in some of our videos.
