BioRender Template
A simple self-replicating cell
Description
The cell uses an importer (IC) to take up a carbon source (C), which can be converted to nucleotides (NT) or amino acids (AA) by the enzymes ENT and EAA, respectively. NT are then polymerized into rRNA by RNA polymerase (RNAP). The enzyme RNase can degrade rRNA into NT. Ribosome (R) uses AAs to synthesize all cellular enzymes (IC, EAA, ENT, RNAP, RNase, assembly factors (AF)) and ribosomal proteins (rP). Finally, rRNA and rP are assembled to R by the AFs.
