Activation of Protein Kinase A (PKA)
Description
This template shows activation of protein kinase A through GPCR signaling, in which a stimulatory ligand activates a Gs alpha subunit that stimulates adenylyl cyclase to convert ATP to cAMP, while an inhibitory ligand acting through a Gi alpha subunit blocks this activation. The resulting cAMP binds and activates inactive protein kinase A, triggering a cellular response.
