Anatomy of the Lymphatic vessels

An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Anatomy of the Lymphatic vessels

Description

This image depicts the structure and function of the lymphatic system. It shows the progression from lymphatic capillaries, which absorb fluid, macromolecules, and immune cells through paracellular and transcellular routes, to pre-collecting lymphatic vessels, and then to collecting lymphatic vessels equipped with valves. The lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) and lymphatic muscle cells (LMCs) are highlighted, illustrating their roles in fluid flow regulation via "button" and "zipper" junctions.
