Description
This template shows an aquaponics system with a fish tank containing fish and waste connected to a sediment tank where ammonia-oxidizing bacteria convert ammonia into nitrite, then to a biofilter where nitrite-oxidizing bacteria convert it into nitrate. The nitrate-rich water is pumped into a hydroponic tank growing lettuce plants, with filtered water returning to the fish tank and an air pump supplying oxygen to both tanks.
