Description
This template shows the germinal center reaction in a secondary lymphoid follicle, tracing naive B and T cell activation and proliferation through formation of a germinal center with dark and light zones where centroblasts undergo clonal expansion, somatic hypermutation, and affinity-based selection by follicular dendritic cells and Tfh cells. Selected B cells differentiate into antibody-secreting plasma cells or memory B cells, while low-affinity clones undergo apoptosis.
