Blood Cells Formation - Hemopoiesis (hematopoiesis) Bone Marrow Stem Cells
Description
Hemopoiesis, also known as hematopoiesis, is the process by which the body produces blood cells. It primarily occurs in the bone marrow, which is a spongy tissue found within the cavities of bones. Mature cells then enter the bloodstream. Hemopoiesis involves the differentiation and maturation of blood stem cells, known as hematopoietic stem cells, into various types of blood cells. These stem cells can give rise to different cell lineages, each with specific functions.
