C. elegans dihybrid cross for a temperature-sensitive mutation and a second, suppressor, mutation
Description
The figure illustrates the expected F2 genotypes, from a single parental worm that was doubly heterozygous for a mutation in the emb9 gene, causing embryonic lethality at 20 degrees C, and a suppressor mutation (rescuing the phenotype at 20 degrees). Along with phenotypic information, there is a key for explaining the genotypes. This cross assumes that the two traits (lethality at 20◦C (emb9 mutation) and phenotype rescue) are inherited as two distinct genes.
