Description:

This template shows the day-night cycle of Crassulacean Acid Metabolism photosynthesis in a mesophyll cell, with stomata open at night to take up CO2 and store it as malic acid in the vacuole. During the day the stomata close and stored malate is converted back to CO2 to feed the Calvin cycle in the chloroplast.
