Description
This template compares a healthy blood brain barrier with normal tight junction assembly, where TNF-a and Ang-2 expression is off and claudin, occludin, and ZO-1 hold endothelial cells together, to a brain cancer state where a tumor cell disrupts the barrier. In the cancer condition, substance P triggers TNF-a/Ang-2 expression, breaking down the tight junction proteins and allowing the cancer cell to invade between endothelial cells.
