Description: Heterozygous female CX3CR1 GFP/- mice will be lethally irradiated ablating the peripheral bone-marrow, following the preparation of green fluorescent bone marrow preparation from tibiae/femurs. Female WT BALB/c mice of age 6 to 10 weeks will be irradiated 1,100 cGy, in which 24h after irradiation, the green fluorescent bone marrow will get injected IV. After 6 weeks reconstruction, chimeric mouse are obtained with GFP expressing macrophages and CNS derived microglial cells are lacking GFP.
