Description
Epigenetic regulation through histone modification controls EMT. In epithelial-specific regulation, E-cadherin is acetylated and demethylated via KDM6A. During EMT, ZEB1, SNAI1/2, and SOX4 recruit HMTs and HDACs to repress E-cadherin transcription, promoting the mesenchymal phenotype.
