Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Infection
Description
This template shows Epstein-Barr virus infecting resting B cells in the dermis during primary infection, becoming an EBV-infected B cell clast expressing EBNAs, LMP-1, and LMP-2 that is targeted by cytotoxic T cells and NK cells. It also shows persistent infection, in which latently infected memory B cells reactivate into lytic EBV-infected B cells that release new virus particles.
