Expression of SELP gene in sickle cell disease patients during crisis
Description
In sickle cell disease, hemolysis triggers the production of inflammatory molecules, including IL-4 and IL that activates the Jak/STAT signaling pathway and SELP gene expression. Additionally, Bcl-3 plays a critical role in this process. It binds to p52 homodimers at the κB site, resulting in the activation of gene expression. On the other hand, when Bcl-3 binds to p50 homodimers at the κB site, it causes them to separate from DNA, allowing p52 homodimers to take their place.
