Description:
This template was adapted from the original submission. Edits were made to enhance scientific accuracy, optimal usability and/or to meet industry-leading design standards for science communication.
The figure depicts preparations of extracellular matrix-based biomaterials to be used in a variety of applications. Cells are removed from native tissue to form a decellularized ECM (dECM), which can be repopulated with patient cells or used as is. Furthermore, the dECM can be milled for use in downstream processes such as hydrogel formation, electrospinning, and 3D bioprinting.
