Graves' Disease
Description
This template compares normal thyroid hormone regulation with Graves' disease. Normally, pituitary TSH stimulates thyroid hormone release, which feeds back to suppress further TSH secretion, but in Graves' disease autoimmune B cells produce antibodies against the TSH receptor that keep stimulating thyroid hormone production even after TSH secretion is shut down, causing excess thyroid hormone.
