An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Human Pre-rRNA Processing and Cleavage Sites

Description

A color-coded schematic of pre-rRNA processing steps and cleavage sites. The Pre-rRNA that gives rise to the 18S, 5.8S, and 28S rRNA components is transcribed as a single unit of the 47S rRNA that then undergoes stepwise processing. The spacers between the mature rRNA forms known as the external and internal transcribed spaces (5'ETS, ITS1, ITS2, and 3'ETS) are cleaved and removed by ribonucleases to give rise to the mature forms.
