Lac Operon
Description
This template shows the lac operon repression mechanism, where the lac repressor blocks RNA polymerase in the absence of lactose but is displaced by allolactose when lactose is present, alongside the separate transcription regulation by CAP and cAMP under low versus high glucose conditions. It illustrates how the CAP site, promoter, operator, and lacZYA genes interact to produce high transcription when glucose is scarce and low transcription when glucose is abundant.
