M Cells
Description
This template shows a four-step sequence of M cells in Peyer's patches, where T cells enter via homing receptors CCR7 and L-selectin, the M cell takes up antigens by endocytosis and phagocytosis, transports them across in vesicles, and releases them at the basal surface for dendritic cells to present, activating T cells in the Peyer's patch. Each panel depicts the M cell, dendritic cell, and T cells within the intestinal epithelium.
