An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Mechanism of Genomic Action of 1,25(OH)₂D₃ via the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR)

Description

This diagram shows the genomic action of 1,25(OH)₂D₃. After entering the cell, it binds to VDR, which forms a heterodimer with RXR. The complex moves to the nucleus, binds to VDREs on DNA, and recruits co-activators like the DRIP complex. This activates transcription of vitamin D-responsive genes involved in calcium homeostasis, immune regulation, and cellular stress responses.
