An editable high resolution scientific image depicting miRNA Processing Mechanisms in the Brain

Description

This template traces miRNA biogenesis in a neuron, showing RNA Pol II transcribing a miRNA gene into pri-miRNA processed by Drosha and DGCR8 in the canonical pathway, or into a mirtron spliced by the spliceosome in the non-canonical pathway. Both converge on pre-miRNA exported by Exportin-5 and loaded into the Ago-Dicer-TRBP complex, which can inhibit translation, direct mRNA to P-bodies, or translocate to dendrites and axons.
