An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Mode of action of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Description

Immune checkpoint proteins (such as Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte associated Antigen 4 (CTLA-4); Programmed Death 1 (PD-1); Programmed Death-Ligand 1(PDL-1); Lymphocyte-Activation Gene 3 (LAG-3)), play a critical role as negative regulators of atherosclerosis. By blocking these proteins ICIs may lead to accelerated atherosclerosis and rupture of plaques leading to Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events (MACE).
