Neutralizing Antibodies Against Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis Virus (VEEV) Aerosol
Description
This figure depicts key findings on neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV). Potent mAbs isolated from mice and a human bind distinct antigenic sites in the A or B domains of the E2 glycoprotein, blocking viral attachment, fusion, and egress. A 3.2-Å cryo-EM structure shows B domain engagement cross-links spikes, inhibiting fusion. Prophylactic and therapeutic mAbs protected mice from lethal aerosol VEEV challenge.
