Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) Formation Pathways
Description
This template compares lytic and non-lytic NETosis pathways triggered in an activated neutrophil by pathogens, DAMPs, platelets, or immune complexes. The lytic pathway shows nuclear delobulation, chromatin decondensation, and plasma membrane rupture releasing NETs with neutrophil death, while the non-lytic pathway shows vesicle-mediated NET transport and extracellular assembly that leaves a viable anucleated neutrophil capable of phagocytosis.
