Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) Isolation by Density Gradient Centrifugation
Description
This template shows peripheral blood mononuclear cell isolation by density gradient centrifugation, with a tube of diluted peripheral blood over a separation medium before centrifuging at 2200 rpm for 30 minutes. After centrifugation the tube separates into a plasma layer containing cytokines, hormones, electrolytes, and proteins, a layer of platelets and PBMCs containing lymphocytes and monocytes, and a bottom layer of red blood cells and polymorphonuclear cells including eosinophils and neutrophils.
