Description

Graphic representation of the bacterial transcription process. Transcription begins with the recognition of the − 10 Schaller-Pribnow box and the − 35 element by the sigma factor reading to the promoter engagement. Transcription initiation requires formation of the transcription bubble, with RNA synthesis initiating at the start site. Sigma factor falls off during RNA elongation, allowing the RNAP to continue copying the DNA into RNA. Upon transcription termination, RNAP and RNA are released
