Description
ZnO NPs can be modified in aqueous solution of H2O2 to introduce hydroxyl groups on the ZnO NPs surface. When the hydroxylated particles were mixed with PVA polymer, the atoms on the polymer chains would interact with the -OH groups on the particle surface by hydrogen bond. The strong interaction between hydroxylated NPs and polymer chains makes the nanocomposites more uniform with few pores compared with nanocomposites filled with crude ZnO NPs.
