Rodent Open Field Test
Description
The Open Field test is a simple and common measure of behavior in rodents. This assessment can be used to evaluate a variety of behaviors, such as anxiety, locomotion, and general activity/exploration habits in many different models. This figure depicts a typical computer analytical output of the movement of a rodent in the open field chamber, either non-anxious (right top, explores entire area) or anxious (right bottom, only moves about perimeter of chamber).
