Serial Dilution Procedure
Description
This template shows a serial dilution procedure starting with a flask of colony-forming units at unknown concentration, diluted stepwise through six tubes from 1:10 to 1:106 by transferring 1.0 mL of broth each time. Each dilution is plated and the resulting colony counts, ranging from too many to count down to 0 colonies, are used to calculate the original bacterial concentration in CFU per mL.
