Simplified Overview of Transport through Nuclear Transport Complexes (Circular)
Description
This template shows the Ran-GTPase cycle for nuclear transport, in which a carrier protein binds a cargo protein in the cytosol, passes through the nuclear pore complex with Ran-GTP, and releases its cargo inside the nucleus. GTP hydrolysis at the nuclear pore converts Ran-GTP to Ran-GDP, which recycles back to the cytosol to regenerate Ran-GTP for another transport cycle.
