Somatic Hypermutation in Germinal Center B Cells Generate New BCRs
Description
This template shows how somatic hypermutation in germinal center B cells generates new B cell receptors, starting with Tfh cell activation of a B cell through CD40L/CD40 and cytokine signaling. It then compares outcomes for B cells with low affinity mutated immunoglobulin, which cannot present antigen to Tfh cells, versus high affinity mutated immunoglobulin, which can pick up antigen from follicular dendritic cells and receive survival signals.
