TGF-β Changes on Epithelial, Epithelial/Mesenchymal, and Mesenchymal Cells

An editable high resolution scientific image depicting TGF-β Changes on Epithelial, Epithelial/Mesenchymal, and Mesenchymal Cells

Description

A) Epithelial cells maintain integrity through cell-cell adhesion structures anchored to cortical actin and cytokeratin filaments, distributing mechanical stress. Lamin reinforces the nuclear structure. B) Hybrid E/M cells co-express cytokeratin and vimentin, with less cortical actin and stress fibers, and reduced lamin for nuclear flexibility. C) Mesenchymal carcinoma cells show vimentin expression, stress fibers, and minimal lamin. From Fig. 5, Proactive and reactive roles of TGF-β in cancer.
